What lovely calligraphy and cross.
Two hours once. They promise within the hour and have always done it except for that one time. There is someone with a name similar to mine and they sometimes ask if I'm on Humboldt Street. I'm never angry about it unless I have to sit on a hard bench to wait.
Between you Barb and me, Barb had the worse temper when it came to things she didn't like, I remember when she was waiting for a parking place and some one beat her to it, she got out of her car and cussed them out.
What sort of tears would you get if you slaved over a sweater for months and the person you knitted it for wouldn't wear it, it has holes in odd places, and even the dog doesn't want to use it for a bed? Yes she has kitchener stitch for both stockinette and garter stitch as will as using a spare piece of yarn to hold the first stitches so you can go back and knit the other direction from them.
I'm thinking of knitting the sleeves of this sweater around in one knit row and one purl row, instead of back and forth in knit, so I won't have to sew a seam. Elizabeth didn't like the circular needles back then as they used wire and came apart. She would love the ones I have now. The copyright in my book is 1971 but you can still buy it on Amazon. Her book is where I learned to knit with yarn in my left hand; German. I have been knitting German heels, that was the instructions but I didn't know it. She also shows the regular sort that is harder.
I was talking about the schoulders, you know when you knit the front and back and then sew up the schoulders? Well I would knit them together. We always called knitting with your left had as pick knitting.
Would like an electric chair to go to the store when I want to but it is not a necessity right now. My free bus pass would take me somewhere every day if I wanted to go. Off again tomorrow, with my "sit-down" cane to use at the Post Office. Love, Peggy
